KEY:

FE - Listed by the Federal government pursuant to the Endangered Species Act of 1973 as an "Endangered Species" and means any species which is in danger of extinction throughout all or a significant portion of its range.

FT - Listed by the Federal government pursuant to the Endangered Species Act of 1973 as a "Threatened Species" and means ant species which is likely to become an endangered species within the foreseeable future throughout all or a significant portion of its range.

C2 - A "Candidate Species" for listing as either endangered or threatened under the Endangered Species Act of 1973. These are taxa for which information now in the possession of the U.S. Government (Fish & Wildlife Service) indicates that proposing to list as endangered or threatened is possibly appropriate, but for which sufficient data on biological vulnerability and threat are not currently available to support proposed rules.

E - Listed as an "Endangered Species" under the Connecticut Endangered Species Act of 1989 (Public Act 89-224) and means any native species documented by biological research and inventory to be in danger of extirpation throughout all or a significant portion of its range within the state and to have no more than five occurrences in the state.

T - Listed as a "Threatened Species" under the Connecticut Endangered Species Act of 1989 and means any native species documented by biological research and inventory to be likely to become an endangered species within the forseeable future throughout all or a significant portion of its range within the state and to have no more than nine occurrences in the state.

SC - Listed as a "Species of Special Concern" under the Connecticut Endangered Species Act of 1989 and means any native plant species or any native nonharvested wildlife species documented by scientific research and inventory to have a naturally restricted range or habitat in the state, to be at a low population level, to be in such high demand by man that its unregulated taking would be detrimental to the conservation of its population or has been extirpated from the state.
